AI Product & Strategy Lead

About Tribe AI

Tribe transforms Fortune 1000 enterprises into AI-native companies. We map where AI creates billions in value, build it to production, and enable teams to run it. We're builders. Our teams ship production AI systems and we work at the intersection of what's technically possible today and what enterprises actually need. You'll work on hard problems at real scale, alongside senior practitioners who've shipped at the highest level.

About the Role

We're looking for product and strategy practitioners who can parachute into enterprise AI programs and drive them forward. You're the person who scopes the problem, shapes what gets built, and keeps the whole thing pointed at business outcomes — not just technical milestones.

This is a contract role (1099, 20–40 hrs/week) staffed on a project basis. You'll be matched to engagements based on your skills and experience, working alongside Tribe's forward-deployed full-time team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead discovery and scoping for AI engagements — translating executive-level business objectives into concrete product plans that engineering teams can build against
  • Define product vision, success metrics, and prioritized backlogs for AI systems embedded in enterprise workflows
  • Shape the user experience of AI-powered products — ensuring what gets built is usable, adoptable, and drives measurable behavior change
  • Own delivery end-to-end: run client status, manage stakeholders up to C-suite, and make hard prioritization calls when scope, timeline, and ambiguity collide
  • Partner with forward-deployed engineers and architects to make build vs. buy decisions grounded in what's technically feasible and what's strategically right
  • Drive strategic transformation programs — map where AI creates value across a client's business, sequence the work, and build the case for expansion

About You

  • 7+ years in product management, AI strategy, or a hybrid role — with significant time spent client-facing or in professional services environments
  • You've led complex technical product initiatives from discovery through production in enterprise settings
  • Strong understanding of AI capabilities and their practical applications — you know what LLMs can and can't do, when to build custom, and when to buy
  • Exceptional at translating between business stakeholders and engineering teams. You're credible in both rooms
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, messy organizational dynamics, and engagements where the problem statement isn't handed to you
  • You think in terms of outcomes and adoption, not just features shipped. You measure success by whether the client's team actually uses what you built
  • Experience with design thinking, user research, or product design is a strong plus — you don't just spec features, you shape experiences
