The obvious story is that enterprise AI is becoming more specialized. The more consequential story is what that specialization acknowledges: intelligence cannot be separated from the context in which a business operates.
A general-purpose model can reason about a financial filing or summarize a contract. It does not automatically understand an institution’s risk appetite, the business logic embedded in its systems, which precedent matters, what information can cross a permission boundary, or who is authorized to act.
In consequential industries, those are not implementation details. They determine whether an AI system can be trusted and whether it can transform how the business operates.
Gemini Enterprise for Legal and Financial Services is designed around that reality, bringing industry knowledge, governed access, and workflow-specific intelligence closer to the foundation.
That changes the starting point.
Financial institutions share many of the same regulations, market structures, and risk frameworks. What differentiates each institution is its proprietary context: its customers, policies, operating model, institutional knowledge, and judgment about where and how to take risk.
The same is true in legal work. The advantage is not simply summarizing a contract. It is applying an organization’s standards and institutional knowledge to the work, and knowing when expert judgment is required.
Industry AI becomes valuable when it can operate inside that enterprise context.
This is the gap Tribe has spent seven years working in. Our forward-deployed AI engineers, product leaders, and architects embed with enterprise teams to understand how the business actually works and turn that understanding into production systems.
They connect models to proprietary data and existing systems. They capture logic hidden in legacy code, operating procedures, and expert judgment. They build the evaluations, controls, and user experiences that make AI dependable in high-stakes workflows. And they stay through deployment and adoption.
For a financial institution, that could mean preserving decades of business logic while modernizing a critical system, making complex internal processes easier to navigate, or compressing the work behind a client, pricing, risk, or compliance decision.
For a legal organization, it could mean turning fragmented matter data, precedent, playbooks, and expert reasoning into a governed intelligence layer that helps professionals move faster without compromising confidentiality or judgment.
The workflows differ, but the challenge repeats: the system must understand the organization, operate within its constraints, and materially improve the business.
A proof of concept shows that a model can perform a task. Production shows that an organization can depend on it.
“Gemini Enterprise is already a powerful platform. What Google is doing now is removing the blank page,” said Jaclyn Rice Nelson, co-founder and CEO of Tribe AI. “Gemini Enterprise for Legal and Financial Services means companies can spend less time rebuilding what is common to their industry and more time on what makes their business different. That is where Tribe comes in. We connect Google’s foundation to each company’s data, systems, workflows, and controls, then take it all the way into production in a way that fits how the business actually operates.”
Satish Thomas, Vice President, Google Cloud, said: "AI isn’t just a capability at Tribe—it’s built into their core identity. Their teams excel at pairing deep technical expertise with direct integration into critical business workflows. By rapidly turning high-value challenges into production-ready systems, Tribe is an ideal partner for organizations deploying Gemini Enterprise.”
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and Gemini Enterprise for Legal makes industry context part of the platform. Tribe makes it specific to the enterprise.
The launch raises the floor. What companies build from it will determine the advantage.
If your organization is exploring where Gemini Enterprise could create meaningful value, we’d love to hear from you.
